ruger 1022 new, how do i mount scope?
i just got a ruger 1022 that i have wanted forever but i need my nikon pro staff 3-9x40 scope for rabbit control but it only came with the basic weaver mounting bracket, the screws are to spall to hold it on , also i need some scope rings, will u please tell me every thing i need to do to mount my scope
Look in the box again. The gun should have come with extra screws that are longer so you can put the weaver on. Once you get the mounting bracket on the gun (I assume that you have scope rings) put the scope in the rings and put it on the gun. Your best bet is to sight the gun in for 25 yds. The trajectory of a .22lr is flat from 25 to 55yds.
Good luck with the rabbits.
You may want to buy as many 20-30 round mags for this gun as you can. Even though this gun is small and would never be used by anyone with any brains to commit a crime, mags larger than 10 rds will probably be illegal in the next few months. Remember, there is no difference between a .22 long rifle and an M60 in the mind of a liberal.
