Choosing Scope Mount/Ring for Weatherby Vanguard?
I just got a Weatherby Vanguard Synthetic chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum, and I'm having trouble picking a scope base and rings. The scope I'm attaching has a 1" diameter main tube, and lens diameters of 1.75" and 2" for the ocular and objective lens, respectively. I want a one-piece Leupold steel base, and Leupold steel rings, and I need to make sure they will fit my rifle. I used Leupold's "Mount Selector", but it gave me a whole bunch of different choices for the bases, and didn't have the brand of scope I will be using. I am a bit confused about what the "RH" and "LA" designations are on the Leupold bases. On the Weatherby page for my rifle it says that the rifle is "RH", if I use the STD-700 RH-LA scope mount will it fit? I will be using this rifle for hunting, and out to about 300 yards when doing so, so I think i need a one-piece base to hold my zero. Can you tell me which base and rings I should pick for my rifle and scope?
Thanks
YES, The Standard Leupold Steel STD-700 RH-LA Mount will fit perfectly. Conetrol are nice but I personally prefer Leupold and sell Leupold 10-1 over other bases in my Gun Shops. They are steel, and will give you a quality tight 1 piece base to mount your scope on. Leupold will easily handle the recoil on your Weatherby .300 Weatherby Magnum rifle.......
*The Leupold Selector Chart gives you numbers for ALL of the bases (1 piece-2 piece etc) that will fit your Weatherby
rifle. The 1 piece base for the Remington 700 Long Action fits your Weatherby rifle...
