Difference b/w 1911 handguns??
I am looking to get a handgun. I am reading alot of good things about the 1911. My question is what is the difference between all the differnent makers? They all say .45 1911 but the prices range from like $450 to $1500. I was looking at the Springfield 1911 Milspec 5" 45ACP SS W/Holster for $657, Springfield GI .45 1911-A1 Stainless for $490, and the TAURUS PT1911 .45 ACP PISTOL IN STAINLESS STEEL for $533. What is the difference? Using it at the range and for home protection.
Taurus is the better one in my opinion. I am not much of a 1911 guy, but my friend is and I will choose hisTaurus every time. It is forged steel which means stronger than the others. Also you cannot beat the price of them. They also have a lifetime of the gun warranty which means that it will be with you or whomever you sell it or give it to (if you do that) will be able to get the gun fixed. The best holster to look at for this firearm is the Blackhawk CQC holsters with the Serpa lock.
