Can someone give me a pointer for shooting of bi-pod? I just built a new varmint gun.?
I built a custom marlin model 60 .22 semi-auto with fiberforce stock and Harris bi-pod. The gun has a BSA rim fire 3X9X32 scope with varmint light and laser attachment. At 50 yards, I get a dime group... and 100 yards more like softball...The gun has no recoil what so ever. I don’t know what I could be doing wrong.
It doesn't sound to me like you are doing anything wrong - .22LR is really only accurate out to 50yards as a practical range. A dime-sized group at 50 yards is great, and for .22, the softball at 100 yards isn't bad, either. If you really want a bipod, Harris Bipods are very highly regarded, though it doesn't sound to me like it's your shooting that's causing the problem. I would focus on shooting at 50 yards with the .22, and if you want to go out to 100 (or beyond), look into a high-power centerfire rifle caliber like .223 or .308.
