Question about adjusting pH level in a betta tank. Plz help! I dun want to stress my happy betta?
My tank is around 13.5 litre of water, a filter, gravel,1 plastic plant and 1 cloth plant, and an ornament. I just bought the pH test kit with the pH up and down powder as well. I test my tank water and the reading is around 7.8, which concerns me. My betta seems really happy in the tank, playing around and building bubblenest. I test the tap water that i'm using at its neutral.
Some Questions:
1. Should i adjust the pH or just leave it there?
2. If i need to adjust,
-->how do i measure how much powder of pH down should i put in?
-->How do i change it GRADUALLY?
I really need help in this. Thanks for the answers. Cheers
A pH of 7.8 is fine for your betta - I've kept them in water as high as 8.3 (out of the tap).
As long as he's happy, there's no reason to change it - and you're right, trying to adjust it and keep it consistent will be more stressful for him than leaving it as-is.
