dpdt switch instead of a button switch to control linear accentuator?
electric car jack with 12v dc motor working on a push button switch one for up and one for down, as its controller, i need to change it for a rocker switch so continous pressure on the button is unnecessary but will this mess up the limiter which cuts off the motor once jack is fully raised. dose anyone have an idea what i can do? could i clamp the up button down and place the dpdt rocker on the 12v power cables ?? other suggestions greatly welcomed thanks
First, you need a double- pole- double -throw center off switch. Wire a pair of 2 wire cables to it, 1 wire to a corner connection, the other half to the center connection closest to it. The other cable is attached to the remaining center terminal & the one diagonal opposite. That will give you something to hook to the 2 push buttons, so it can be used either way.
