Seeking a source of quality SKS parts and personal experiences with HITECH parts specifically.?
I have a Yugo M59/66 with a blade bayonet, grenade launcher & associated muzzle brake without a single matching number in it that I grabbed at a gun show for cheap. I'm interested in some parts available on the rifletech.com website, but I'm cautious as to the quality of any aftermarket parts from my experience with a 30rd duckbill mag that fell out every time I pulled the trigger. The parts I find most interesting are the collapsible M4 style stock with triple picatinny rails, the "scout mount" gas tube system, the adapter plate for removable magazines & the especially high capacity magazines. I fully expect the higher capacity magazines to be failure prone, but if I'm wrong, please let me know. The claim of a 600% increase in accuracy with the "shock wave brake" sounds good, but I'm no gunsmith & I'm not sure if the stock muzzle can be removed with hand tools, let alone if this claim is credible. If anybody has any suggestions for guaranteed quality parts, I'm all ears. Thanks.
I like the SKS as they are, but if I had to recommend something for them, it would be the Tapco T6 Stock set, if used in conjunction with Tapco 20rd sks magazines, you can have a tacti-cool rifle for the cheap end. Normally the aftermarkey detachable magazines suck, and suck hard. The Tapco 20 rounders when used with their T6 offer reliable feeding and function, they're a bit awkward to put in and take out, but once you gt used to it, it's just as fast as reloading an AK.
