why don't plants grow towards the red or green light?
This under phototropism. In my experiment we grew plants under different wavelength: blue, green, red, orange, white, yellow. The seedlings grew towards the blue,orange, yellow and white light. They did not slant towards the green and red light. Why are the results that way?

Green light is reflected, so none of the energy is absorbed and turned into plant tissues. Red light stimulates flowering, not growth -- blue light does that.
