Question about accuracy of 22 rifle?
I have an older (it is probably from the '50's because it does not have any numbers on it) 22 Marlin rifle, bolt action with a clip, and a very good scope. The barrel is 25 inches. I have polished the trigger sears so the trigger is very smooth. My question is: What size group should I be able to get at 100 yards resting with Winchester T22 ammo? Or can you recommend a better ammo?
Also, I clean the bore religiously after shooting.

Try several different brands and types of .22LR ammunition in the rifle to determine which shoots best.
If your rifle can shoot groups measuring 1 inch in diameter, or less, at 25 yards, that would be okay. Better yet would be groups of 3/4 or 1/2 inch in diameter, but we won't know until you test fire the rifle.
At 100 yards, any wind or weather conditions have had more opportunity to influence the trajectory of the bullet from a.22LR cartridge. So group sizes will open up somewhat.
Also, the bullet will have transitioned from being super-sonic to being sub-sonic in velocity. That transition de-stabilizes the flight of the bullet and reduces accuracy. This is why some shooters prefer ammunition which produces sub-sonic muzzle velocities.
