mil dots and muzzle crowns (17hmr)?
ok...mil dots are usually custom (different) with each scope.
and you read them with the suggested magnification.
my question is...do the mil dots change with magnification?
like their worth at 10x would be 2 times bigger than at 20x. and if you were reading at 20x you'd have to multiply it by 2.
is that true?
and whats the deal with barrel crowns? do all rifles have them, like rimfire, and is it preffered to use bore snakes to avoid damaging them?
thx
Unless you have a scope with an electronically generated dot that is selectable, the dot size is fixed and shoud remain the same size. Target crowning is done to insure a clean exiting of the lans & grooves by the bullet and to protect that opening.
