Winchester Model 70 for a girl?
Ok, I am 21 y.o. fem. I want to get a hunting rifle to go deer hunt with my dad and brother. I have found a Model 70 in 7-08 called the Ranger Youth model (or something like that?). The price is $550 with a Burres (sp?) scope and sling thingy. Owner will give me 5 boxes of bullets and a carry case. If I can get him down to under $500, would this be a good choice? I would appreciate any other girls that have feedback for me on this too.
OK guys...the rifle is now mine!!!! YEAH!!!! Now I can't wait for all the other girls who hate guns to condemn me!!!! Don't care. I bought it from the owner for $500. And she shore iz purdy! It is not brand new, but I would say, to me anyway, that it would pass for new. And Kris....I like your postings too...look for a PM from me soon!
any youth model for us (girls) will fit you fine
trust me lol- i have a 243 and a 20 ga and their both youth models
and gosh did you get lucky- good gun, good scope, comes with a sling and the owner gave you 5 boxes of bullets and a case! congrats!

one thing you didn't mention was if it has a wooden stock or not- a wooden stock will absorb more recoil
a synthetic stock doesn't but it's lighter weight
a wooden stock will suit you if your recoil 'shy' any, but a synthetic stock will suit you if you have a lot of walking to do... but after walking a while, a gun with a synthetic stock will get heavy too lol
(my rifle has a synthetic stock)
