Scope rings could a rimfire ring work on centerfire ring?
I saw this video on youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwzS3ej_ex8&feature=channel_video_title
The user said he used "Warne Brand 3/8" Medium Rise Scope rings".
I finally contacted him and he gave me a link for these: Warne Brand 3/8" Medium Rise Scope rings
I noticed the recommended rings are for a airguns/.22 rifles. Will they stand up okay? My understanding was just the scopee had to be rated for centerfire.
The uploader gave me this link: http://www.amazon.com/NcStar-RB25-1-Ring-3-Dovetail-Medium/dp/B001C20028/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1299875436&sr=8-7
I noticed the rings are for .22 rimfire guns. One buyer mounted it on his MN and claims it works.
Hi Reb! Actually,"believe it or not",do you remember that show on tv? Anyway,to answer your question the rings are not the issue, the scopes are! There are 25 and 30mm scope tube diameters. 25mm seems the most common. The 3/8ths is the dovetail measurement. From what I've gathered from your other posts and answers,is that someone just took 3/8ths mounts and somehow clamped them directly to the sight mount on the rifle.I'll have to dig out my 91-30 and see if it's as easy as this, cause if it is I'll have a scope on mine tomorrow! A 3/8ths-25mm ring is probably what is being talked about. Oh,by the way some air rifle scopes are very specialized for the harmonics of the spring piston types of air rifles! You will destroy a common rifle scope on an piston spring air rifle! ![]()
P.S. I watched the video, but it was so dark I couldn't make out what he used. It did look like just rings clamped to the sight mount,as best as I could see!
