how do i mount a scope on my marlin Model 93FV .22 magnum rifle?
it already has the scope bases installed but what all needs to be purchased along with the scope to attach it to the rifle, also any recommendations for a nice scope
The easiest way to mount a scope on a .22 rifle is to check and see if it has a 3/8ths inch dovetail (groove) on the receiver. If it does, (your Marlin should have this feature since the description of the sights says "receiver is grooved for scope mount"), you can buy an inexpensive scope either a 4x15mm or a 3-9x20mm Tasco airgun/rimfire scope for around $20 at Walmart and simply slide the scopes lower clamps into the the dovetail groove and then when you have the eye relief set properly tighten the screws on the camps down with a screwdriver. The upside is that its simple to do. The downside is the scopes are not the highest quality, though they work fine for rimfire ranges.
The next option is to buy a good 4x or 3-9x scope and take it to a gunsmith to have him to attach it.
