I wanna be a Marine scout sniper?
But i know during the 13 weeks of boot camp your shooting qualifies you to do that. I have perfect vision and perfect shot with a rifle and pistol. My Step father was a ex marine and was a scout. He treats me like a marine so im mentally prepared for it. But my question is a What other special operations do the Marines have like classified work like Recon, or SARCs or Seal teams?
Yes Elite top units that are Good and Elite as they come like less suppression and more Tactics, like kill someone and get out without being seen.
My rifle shooting has been Qualified as a "Expert" by many gunman and ex marines say i have a great chance. I just don't want to be a front line guy id rather take kill shots only rather than being shot at 24/7
OK, ok, first; 2d Recon Battalion is a DIFFERENT ANIMAL from a Force Recon unit.
Your boot camp score does nothing towards getting you into Scout Sniper School. If I'm not mistaken, grunt units all have a STA platoon (Surveillance Target Acquisition) of which they all go to Sniper School. The shooting part isn't hard; apply fundamentals of marksmanship, control your breathing, accommodate for the wind, etc. The stalking part is the tough part.
I was in a mechanized grunt unit, my roommate went through Sniper School at Stone Bay and said it was one of the hardest things he's done. Didn't see the point for a sniper in LAR and still don't.
