Got my duty holster destroyed by my dog... Buying a new one.?
Alright. I am a Security Forces troop in the USAF. I got my crappy Uncle Mikes double retention holster that I was issued destroyed by my dog... I talked to my unit's supply and they are all out of the Safariland drop holsters that they now issue. They said they could give me one of the Uncle Mike's holsters again or I could buy my own Safariland drop holster or Blackhawk SERPA 2 drop holster.
So, my question is, which would you recommend? They both look pretty nice. The guys that have the Safarilands say that they are a pain to draw naturally but are tough and withstand a beating. The one Tech Sgt in our flight who has a Blackhawk SERPA 2 says that he can draw very naturally but that it doesn't withstand beatings very well and he broke one when he slipped and fell.
What are your folk's opinions?
Go with Safariland, I'm assuming this is for the Beretta M9? If so they make an excellent product. Overall most good companies allow you to return it if it does not have much use.
Some people buy both, test them in their house find which one they like and return the other. Anyway good luck.
