Do bullet shells expand?
My question is, when a weapon is fired (rifle or pistol) does the shell expand inside the chamber causing it to perhaps be momentarily "stuck" in the chamber, before ejecting? Does the pressure of the gasses expand the shell to an extent, so that it is "stuck" and tightly fitting inside the chamber? Or does the shell immediately have backward force and movement (upon firing), instantly causing the bolt to move rearward, with its own (the shell's) rearward momentum?
Heat can cause expantion to the brass . but in this case no. it will not get stuck due to expantion. the shell casing will not expand to that extent. if the gun is simi auto, the gasses are not enough powerfull to expand the casing, it will just spit the brass out. Any jamming of your brass will happen with simi auto with cheep guns. Proper gun cleaning will help. Hope it helps!
