If the U.S. were to invade North Korea, what is the estimated number of fixed/rotary wing aircraft shot down?
As war with North Korea seems ever more imminent in the next few years, I would like to know their capabilities of shooting down our airplanes by any means available, including S.A.M.'s, fighter aircraft, etc. Obviously it's impossible to give a close estimate. I want to find out if the number is high, medium, or low (along with a number range for each of these categories).
Please don't just spout off if you don't actually know. Any statistics (and their sources) would be much appreciated, such as number of Surface to Air Missiles in country. Also, those in the military who have relevant missions (pilot, pararescue, combat control, etc.) most likely have some valuable insight.
I'm a 3rd year cadet in AFROTC and this war will likely involve me directly. I'm curious to see how heavy it's projected to be.
