What sort of ammo do I use for waterfowl hunting?
Hi, I'm a beginner at waterfowl hunting and am wondering what ammo to pick out... i have a 12ga shotgun... it can only hold 2 3/4 shells. What sort of size shot should I get? if you could explain in some detail that would be great. I don't fully understand what all of the numbers on the side of the ammunition box mean. Thanks.
You need magnum loads in bb,#2 shot size for geese and #2,4 shot for ducks. Steel is piss poor....some people like black cloud for steel. Bismuth,Hevishot is the best but,it cost.
Get the heaviest load you can listed in oz on the box like 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 for 2 3/4" shells. If you are in the US lead is banned.
Read this and scroll down to learn about shot size.
