How often should I clean my smooth bore shotgun barrel if I am shooting rifled slugs.?
I am going to a range soon and I want to shoot some rifled slugs. I have a Benelli Supernova with a smooth bore barrel. I am also planning on putting 30+ slugs through the gun in short period of time. Should I just clean the barrel after I am done shooting or should I clean the barrel after a certain number of shells. I heard somewhere that you should clean it after a certain amount of shells because of lead fouling. Since my gun is a smooth bore and not rifled do I not have to clean it as often.
I found that my smooth bore shot tighter with a few rounds through it.
I think you can relax 30 rounds won't cause issues, 300 rnds perhaps but not 30.
