Should I buy a mossberg 12g semi auto shotgun or a 12g pump shotgun for home protection?
I was wanting a 12 gauge shotgun for home protection. Nothing expensive so I found a mossberg 12 gauge pump action for $240. Then I looked at a 12 gauge tactical for $390. its got the pistol grip with adjustable stock and a heat shield on the barrel. Then I looked at a mossberg 930 12 ga. semi auto with breecher for $599. Any ideas which one of these has an advantage over the other, or any ideas for something else that is a good home protection weapon?
pick one.....personally i use the pump less parts to fail when needed......but then again they are all decent guns......
also as for pistol grip or not would depend on how tight ur house is.....would say full stock for 90% of homes.....that way u can aim decent for longer shots if the need should arise.....hard to get slugs into bad-guys car at 100 yards with a pistol grip when ur half asleep at 3 am.......just an opinion and u shouldn't shoot at someone fleeing but if they are shooting u want to b prepared......
as for breechers and heat shields they are added weight and useless........u don't need to blow doors off of hinges in ur own home and u won't b shooting enough rounds to worry about heat if something does happen.......
my advice would b a 20 inch barrel with full or adjustable stock and possibly a flashlight on it but only IF u need it....most of the time u don't want a light on ur gun or to turn lights on since if gives bad guys target and u no ur house layout and they don't......
