Want to sell my AR / M4, how do I go about doing it and how much?
Have an M4 I want to get rid of, I pieced it together about 6 months ago. Rock River lower, LMT upper, LMT Stg2 trigger group, SOPMOD 5pos buttstock, Troy rail system, Troy Di-Optic Battle sight, Magpul trigger guard extension, and tactical bolt catch (extended). Any ideas as to how much I should be asking? I have a general number in my mind but thought I would get some outside opinions. More importantly how do I go about selling? Im not familiar with laws and regulations on this.
I'd go to a gun show and carry it on your back. Put a for sale sign on it, but no price. (The reason for this is because if someone that has "MS13" tattoos all over his face comes up, you can tell him you're asking $10,000... Anyone that passes your "instant background check" gets the normal price.) Ask to see their driver's license... They need to be a resident of your state. Ask that you can write down their name and DL number for your records.
Let's see.... I'll break down the price (and exclude what isn't worth listing).
RRA Lower- $120
LMT upper- $600
LMT trigger- $150
SOPMOD- $200
Troy rails- $150
Sights- $120
Add 'em up= 1340
used= 70% of new
total=938
Assuming it comes with a magazine or two, and possibly a hard case. $1000.
I'd have my asking price at $1100. Be willing to talk down to $950-$1000.
