What is the deifference between skeet and trap shooting?
Also, why would you buy a 20 gauge and not a 12 gauge? I am obviously a novice but it seems to me there isnt anything you would use a 20 gauge for that you couldnt use a 12 gauge for but it isnt the same vice versa. I am sur eI am missing something but, thats why I am asking.
Thanks.
The only difference is how targets are presented, how the shooters move, and the rules about shooting them. The targets, I mean, not the shooters! Both are shooting shotguns at clay pigeons. Look at the links below for more information.
The reason you might want to use a 20 over a 12 gauge is to both give yourself a little more of a challenge, as the 20 cannot throw as much shot as fast as a 12, and to be softer on your shoulder, too. A 20 gauge is no cheaper to shoot, and ammunition may be a little harder to find. Most sporting goods places have at least a dozen kinds of shotshells, though.
