Will firing an sks or any gas operated rifle with the gas piston turned off fire more accuratly?
Just curious cause there is less moving parts like a bolt action rifle which are considerably more accurate over autos.
It will do nothing to improve accuracy.
Accuracy for bolt actions are better because the round is securely in place, were as the semi-auto bolt does a sloppy job of it and each round is slightly off of where it should be. The bolt action eliminates this sloppy alignment.
As said by beeds the condition of the rife is important for accuracy. If the rifling are worn out, head space worn, and the muzzle crown has been damaged accuracy will suffer. Vangion is right; if you change it to a bolt action it will be more accurate. But why spend that sort of money and time on a cheap gun?
