I stumbled across a room divider on Target's website and was wondering about it.
I have a really, really modern/contemporary decorated apartment (Stone/glass tables, stainless steel appliances, lime green leather sofa/chairs, white entertainment system, white dining room chairs/glass dining room table funky shaped) and was wondering if it would look good to have them separating my living room dining room which kind of are... just there.

Go for it because it looks fantastic and would be perfect for that modern feel because of the geometric shapes. Don't worry about the Japanese issue because everyone uses these in modern places.
