why are some survival knives cheap?
I have seen some survival knives that have a saw on the top part of the blade, they have a compass and a sharpening stone in the handle and some are bought for only 20 dollars, do those knives that are bought in that price suck by breaking easily?
Cheap knives often use cheap steal. That means they don't hold an edge well and that they're not as durable as better quality knives. The kind of survival knives you're describing sound a lot like the original survival knives that tried to capitalize on the popularity of the Rambo movies back in the 1980s. If its a modern version of those knives, they're definitely made with cheap steel...
