Could i saw off my paintball gun barrell? would it effect anything?
i want to make the barrel smaller so it can be more compactable and not so big and to make it lighter. also its a tac-5 reacon
Its fine to cut a barrel shorter, myself and others have done it. Just make sure to file out the burrs after cutting the barrel.
T-Rogg76, the stock barrel is not rifled and even it is, there would not be a big reduction in accuracy. For the most part, paintball barrels are smooth bore. Accuracy comes from a good paintball and a good paintball to barrel match to where the paintball can be easily blown out of the barrel but not roll out or get stuck.
A downside to shortening the barrel is that it will be a lot harder to get the gun to shoot 300FPS. With my 98C, the barrel down to 2" only gets me a max of 220FPS.
