Question about Army gear?
Once BT, AIT is complete, are you allowed to buy tactical gear of your own? What would they allow you to take on base and use in the field?
I'm actually about to goto BT
Follow unit SOP. I wear whatever boots and gloves I want but I tend to make that as far as I lke to veer off. When I get a cherry in who gets all the gucci gear I smoke em till they get the idea they really don't need it. The idea is everybodies gear is set up the same way so if you need to do buddy aid etc. it's all in the same location. If I'm trying to do checks for injuries etc. after contact and you have on all that crap I cant sweep for blood etc.properly, sensitive items, or any of that junk. And it's just more crap you need to develop muscle memory to use when you need it or another something to get hung up on when you really need to get out of a rolled over vehicle etc. So pay attention to your squad leader. If he says get it, get it. If he doesn't, don't.
