Which tactical gloves would an officer recommend?
I've been involved in the protection field for a few years now and am finally sick of burning through latex gloves (we don't wear tac gloves all the time because of our type of clients and environment, somedays however i wear latex gloves for 10 hours straight. I want protection from sharps, etc.)
I could ask the people in my field, but i would rather get info from Police officers and others who constantly wear hand protection.
What would you recommend and are using right now? Here's some info that may help me get a better answer. I'm very open.
-Mixed material top (for breathability sakes, tried leather didn't like it)
-Kevlar shield (any other ideas?)
-Good gripping surface
-They should be somewhat puncture resistant
-I do perform searches
-I do not use firearms but do use restraints
-My max budget is about $60 (flexible)
-Would be nice if i could order them from a Canadian retailer or p/u locally in Toronto, but ordering from the U.S.A is fine too
Thank you kindly
I've been using the Hatch Spectra shield gloves for many years in the corrections field.
They have a leather exterior and a Kevlar lining.
they are decent against body fluids and do very well against cuts and punctures, although needles do have a good chance to go thru the Kevlar weave.
I've had them save my hands against razor slashes several times.
