What is the best red-dot sight for $30?
I am looking for a red dot sight for a Ruger 10/22 for target shooting. Can anybody recommend a sight that is clear, nicely focused dot and durable?
The sight is for my little cousin for christmas but I also use the rifle and I shoot things like beer cans out to 100 or even 150 yds. I need a red dot sight which has a dot I can see the target behind at that range. However I'm not lookin' to spend more than $30.
That is a shame.
Because the TruGlow red dot sight at www.midwayusa.com for $59 is totally awesome. It has 4 different types of aiming dots and crosshairs, does both green and red, and is ajustable for brightness in clicks from 0-5. 0 is off - 5 is very, very bright. I have this on my AR-15. I watched a guy with one of these $59 TruGlows on his M4 machine gun beat out a bunch of guys in a tactical matches this summer that all had those $400-$600 EOTech sights on their guns. I put my 22 conversion kit in my AR-15 - and I love this scope using it as a 22 and as a 223. It is very fast and easy to find and hit targets with.
Another awesome 22 scope - the BSA "Sweet 22" - it is made specifically for the 22 rifle. It has a BDC (bullet drop compensator) - once calibrated - with a quick turn of the top turret you can instantly change the rifle zero from 30 feet to 375 feet! Imagine being able to shoot a can up close by putting the cross hairs dead on it - then set the scope for 300 feet and then shoot a can dead on with the cross hairs at 100 yards? I have this on my suppressed Ruger 10/22 I use for hunting small game in Alaska - it is a heck of allot of fun!! These are around $89.
Sounds like Mom and Dad need to help you guys get a nice scope that is not overpriced.
