Savage 93R17-BTVS (.17HMR) stainless steel with laminated thumbhole stock...?
I don't really have a question, I just wanted to tell you all I got a new rifle tonight. Can't wait to get to the range this weekend and see if can get 2 bullets in the same hole, ha-ha.
I guess I should ask a question though, I just started shooting 6 months ago and have put about 4500 rounds through my little .22 mostly at 50 yards or so. This is my second gun, I'm going to work at 100 yards with this thing.
Once I get a grip on the .17 over the next 6-12 months, what would be the next logical step in the calibre progression for a rooky like myself?
(I am an adult (not a kid) and a big guy so recoil shouldn't be a problem.)
I would suggest your next step to be a 223 caliber or even a 243 caliber rifle depending if you have intentions to hunt AND target shoot with it. The 223 caliber has some limitations but I use an AR15 Platform Rifle (Bushmaster HB Match Rifle) to shoot NRA Sanctioned Competitions & Matches at 200,400 and 600 yards....The 243 caliber has a larger variety of bullet sizes and designs, but it's really according to what you want to use it for, to be the true determining factor.....
CONGRATULATIONS...On your NEW Savage!.You're gonna love shooting the 17HMR caliber
NOTE**** THe NEXT STEP would be a 308 caliber
