What is the best kind of hunting rifle and tree or climbing stand for a 15 year old ?
I am 15 i am like 5' 6" i am 260ish and i am getting a gun and stand for my b day and xmas ! and BEST ANSWER GETS 5 STARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is hard to answer without knowing what kind of animals you will hunt. I speculate it is for deer in an area where rifles are allowed.
We also don't know how recoil sensitive or recoil experienced you are.
I am going to suggest a rifle chambered in 7mm-08. If you are recoil sensitive, you can get Remington 'managed recoil' loads that will kick less than a 30-30, but if you are not, the standard loads give great performance, right in line with 270 winny, 308 and 30-06. It is more than enough for deer, and would work fine on elk and black bear and mule deer and dall sheep and mountain goat.
It wouldn't be my first choice for hunting grizzly bear though.
As far as what gun to get it in? Any brand name will do you fine, be it Savage or Howa or Bronwing or Remington etc. Base the gun on how much money you want to spend.
For tree stands, you need to decide if you want a ladder stand or a hanging stand.
Either way, at 260 you want to make sure you have a solid stand. I am 6'1 280 and I get nervous in some types of stands even though they say they hold 300 lbs.
Remember, everything is a trade-off
I like this one because it has a wide platform and I can move around and see a lot more and basically get 270 degree coverage

but there isn't any back support, and just leaning against the tree doesn't always work the greatest.
This one has a great seat, but I don't like moving a whole lot for shots to the side, I feel more restricted when actually attemting a shot on an animal on my side, but it sits nice

This is a ladder style, heavier to carry but I think it is more secure, and is a lot quicker to set up , get up in, and get back out of
