How do I get an out-of-state turkey home to do a fan mount?
I'm going out of state for a week to go turkey hunting.
In the event I kill a decent bird and would like to do a fan mount, what's the best way to go about this as far as getting the feathers home???
Is it ok just to fold up the tail feathers in a paper bag until I get home, then lay them/borox them?
Should I keep them dry but in the ice/cooler?
Should I wrap it up in a towell, get some dry ice and freeze it. Then defrost it when I get home?
I've done this before with a turkey but that was a same day event
Thanks
Just keep the feathers in a cool dry space. The feathers will last for a while. But for extra protection I would keep them under room temperature.
