IF Indeed Floyd is fighting Ortiz this September, what does that make Bradley rejecting a Khan fight?
If indeed the rumors (yes. it's a rumor even if it's in boxrec) that Floyd will be fighting Ortiz this September is true, which I even doubt, what does that make Bradley? Bradley rejecting the biggest payday of his life by rejecting a fight against Khan. Bradley has been calling out Khan before but now that Khan responded Bradley suddenly wants none of him. Bradley instead either went into fantasy land thinking he can get a bigger fight against Floyd or just plainly turned into a duck.
Nothing is final and definite about a Floyd-Victor Ortiz fight so hope springs eternal for fighters like Bradley who is naturally bidding for a bigger payday and a more high profile fight against Floyd.
For a fighter the stature of Bradley, 1.3 million dollars is not much of a purse anyway against Amir Khan.
What's the hurry anyway? The Bradley-Khan could still mature into a super fight a year or two down the road after Tim and Amir have finally and truly established themselves as the undisputed two best boxers in the 140 lbs. division brimming with talents such as Judah, Maidana, Alexander and even the comebacking Erik Morales.
Bradley beating Alexander and Khan beating Maidana in no-so-convincing fashions do not necessarily make them the top two fighters in the division.
Boxing is business and there are times when it is prudent and wise for fighters preclude immediate matchups for better long term benefits for their careers.
