Hunting whitetail deer with a 9mm MP5 carbine, will it work?
My friend Theodore who knows little about guns just purchased a MP5 clone carbine in 9mm. He says that he will go deer hunting with it and shoot hollow points at them. Will it kill whitetail deer? I told him that it is not a wise choice.
Here is a picture of what it looks like, they are made by Vulcan Arms.

9MM doesn't have enough down range energy to successfully take deer.....
Look at this 9MM ballistics chart.....
http://www.shootingtimes.com/ballistics/9mm_luger_9x19mm.html
As you can see the 9MM has only 275 to 350 foot pounds of energy at 50 yards....
It is generally accepted that you need a cartridge that has 1000 foot pounds of energy minimum to ethically take deer.....
The 9MM most likely will injure the animal where it will run off and die a slow pain-full death.... This isn't cool... It should be 1 well placed shot and the deer drops quickly..... A 30/30, 270 or larger rifle caliber should be used.....
